St Mary’s proudly welcomes all ages, and is home to an ever-changing mix of children, from babies and toddlers to teenagers, St Mary’s has something for everyone wanting to come along and join in the fun!

Junior Church and Creche

DUE TO COVID-19 OUR 9:30AM and 11:30AM SERVICE HAS BEEN COMBINED TO ONE SERVICE AT 10:30AM. CHILDREN OVER THE AGE OF FIVE CAN ATTEND JUNIOR CHURCH IN THE NEW ROOM. THOSE UNDER FIVE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH AN ACTIVITY TRAY TO STAY WITH THEIR GROWN-UPS IN THE SERVICE. THIS IS CONSTANTLY UNDER REVIEW AND WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THESE GROUPS.

Each week during our 9:30am and 11:30am service we hold a fully staffed Junior Church and Creche in the tearooms. Activities are based on the lectionary with crafts, songs and stories. During our All-Age service we group meets at the front of the Church during the service. Parents are welcome to stay each week or can go and enjoy the service.

CONNECT IS BACK TO MEETING ON FRIDAY NIGHTS, WE ARE LIMITED TO 15 ATTENDEES AND SADLY CANNOT HAVE A TUCK SHOP YET!

CONNECT Youth Group meets each Friday at the Parish Hall from 6:15pm-7:30pm. This is a community youth group geared towards 9-13 year olds. Each week there are activities, games, talking and a tuck shop! Parents are welcome to stay for tea, coffee and a chat in the smaller room or can drop off and pick up at the end.

ST MARY’S LAMBS AND MESSY CHURCH ARE NOT MEETING YET, BUT HOPE TO SOON.

St Mary’s Lambs runs on Wednesday mornings in the Tea Room and starts at 10.30am. It is open to children aged 0-5 yrs and their parents, grandparents and guardians. After opening with a prayer, the children sing songs and play games, and they enjoy being crafty! The group is invited to come along to our Family Services, and often do so, resulting in numerous prams and push chairs in the pews!

Messy Church which takes place on the second Thursday of each month, except August.  This is an after school activity for families, whose children must be accompanied, throughout, by an adult.  It is held at the Methodist Church, and run by Churches Together in Portchester.  There are games, crafts, a short, lively service and a cooked meal, finishing by six o’clock.  The sessions are free, but donations towards the cost of food and activities are appreciated.
